I have installed 8.04 into my EeePC900. But the webcam is not ok. And the microphone is not working, too.

How can I solve with the problem?

---

Also, Volume control does not seem to work. Can we install some package from the xandros distro to get the volume working?

[edit] EEE PC 900A Error 21

After installing eeebuntu on my new EEE PC 900A, I can't boot because of Error 21: Selected disk does not exist

Solution: Boot eeebuntu image, then edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and modify (hd1,0) entries to (hd0,0)

Re : Error 21 / 15 I've tried to install it with my USB-PEN 16gb , When the installation is complete and I press "Shut down now" , the pc just becomes black and stays black. If I then reboot it with the pen I get ( error 15 ) , and without (error 21) . I've tried to get it to work from the solution but, I get permission denied even with sudo.

Solution: Same solution as the above but in direct form ( Open terminal type 'sudo -i' , then your password as requested. Then type gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst and then edit hd1,0 to hd0,0.

[edit] running ubuntu eee straight of sd card( live mode) is it bad ??/

hiya, just using the ubuntuinit i made the iso image of the ubuntu eee in to my sd card, thus enabling me to run the os live without installing it, since mine is a 2gb surf i cant install it as i tried and failed, thus i have xp on my eee's ssd and ubuntu eee on my sd , allowing a dual boot system, my question is using ubuntu eee live , for a long time , is it detrimental to the system ? will it affect my eee or the sd card ? in the long term. is an installation (complete ) into the sd card a better alternate than what i am doing. the reasons i use it the way i do is cos i only use 700 mb of the card for the ubuntu eee, while the rest is used for data storage. therefor basically saving lots of space, since the live version is more or less fulfills all that i need of it ,i like the way things are. i would appreciate any comments or suggestions cos i am a total newbie who just loves ubuntu..and wants to keep it...pls.( PS is there a smaller version specifically for 2gb surf...)
