Install Microsoft Office

To run Microsoft Office you need to install a Windows application compatibility package first:
- On your keyboard, press Alt + F1 (Alt and F1), and select Add / Remove...
- Select "All available applications" under Show
- Type Wine, check it off and click Apply changes

Office 2007 is classified as running Platinum (of Garbage, Bronze, Gold, Platinum) which means it "works flawlessly with some DLL overrides, other settings or third party software."

Edit: this is misleading... the installer is Platinum, but the individual programs range from Garbage to Silver. Check the appdb yourself to verify.
Actually, you may want to just install the backend from M$ and Office 2003.

Office 2003 and older versions are classified as running Platinum (of Garbage, Bronze, Gold, Platinum) which means "it installs and runs flawlessly ‘out of the box’. No changes required in winecfg."
